From the port we will take a bus ride to the Community Baboon Sanctuary, a protected space spanning 14,800 acres and comprised of 7 villages that voluntarily work to protect the wildlife. When we arrive will be guided through the protected natural habitat, learning about the local species and the sanctuary's conservation efforts. During this nature tour, will have the opportunity to see the protected black howler monkeys (called baboon locally) and other wildlife. Then we will engage in facility improvements: landscaping of the Museum compound, renovation of bathrooms at the primary school, installing waste receptacles, painting murals on the hand wash stations and bathrooms to promote hygiene and sanitation. After our work we will engage in cultural exchange with the community members while we enjoy music from local musicians and Jam Cruise artists, drumming and local cuisine for lunch. Lastly we will witness a Creole demonstration, a culture that runs deep in the history of this area. After our goodbyes we will take our buses back to the port, feeling great about the support we've provided the local communities in Belize!

Your ticket covers transportation to/from the port, lunch, materials for service projects and supports Positive Legacy's grant to the CBS Women's Conservation Group (CBSWCG), which will be awarded as micro grants to local entrepreneurs that align with the organization's mission.
