Day of Service & Sustainable Experience

Join Positive Legacy at Mustard Seed Communities’ Jacob’s Ladder in Ocho Rios for a day of giving back, connection, and celebration!

This unforgettable Day of Service brings together community, compassion, and music in the heart of Jamaica.

We’ll travel to Jacob’s Ladder, a remarkable 150-acre community providing lifelong homes and loving care for adults with mental and physical disabilities. Since 1978, Mustard Seed Communities has been creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can live with dignity, belonging, and opportunity while supporting education and poverty alleviation throughout Jamaica.

On February 6th, we invite our Jam Cruise 23 guests to join us for a meaningful day of service as we work alongside the Jacob’s Ladder community to:

  • Paint cottages and community buildings to help refresh the grounds
  • Complete landscaping and conservation projects
  • Assist with gardening and sustainable agriculture initiatives
  • Clean and refresh shared community spaces

After a rewarding morning of service, we’ll gather for a delicious locally prepared lunch and a very special island-style Everyone Orchestra performance, conducted by Matt Butler and featuring an incredible lineup of Jam Cruise musicians and local artists.

It’s a chance to step beyond the ship, connect with the people and community that welcome us to Jamaica, and make a lasting impact together. We’ll return to the cruise port in the afternoon with full hearts, new connections, and memories that extend far beyond the music.

Give back to the places we visit. Connect with the community. Leave a lasting impact.

This is the kind of day you’ll remember long after the music fades.

Activities for the day will include:

  • Painting projects to refresh cottages and community buildings
  • Landscaping, conservation, and grounds clean-up
  • Gardening and sustainable agriculture projects
  • Community connection and tours of Jacob’s Ladder
  • Locally prepared lunch and live Everyone Orchestra performance
